Why the last frame matters
AI video models generate one clip at a time. Cut two clips together and the shot jumps. Start the second clip on the exact last frame of the first, and the model continues the motion instead, so the sequence reads as one take. That handoff is called frame chaining, and a clean last frame is its first step.

How do I extract the last frame from a video?

Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The browser reads the file locally and draws the frame on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so private footage stays private.
Why does the last frame sometimes come out black?
Many clips end on a fade to black, and some browsers return a blank image when you seek to the exact end of a file. The tool checks for a blank or solid-black final frame and steps back one frame. If your clip really fades out, scrub back to the last frame with picture.
PNG or JPG?
PNG is lossless, which is best when the frame feeds another generation or an edit. JPG is smaller and fine for thumbnails, posters and sharing.
What resolution is the frame?
The frame is saved at the video’s native resolution, for example 1920 by 1080 for a 1080p clip or 3840 by 2160 for 4K. Nothing is scaled down.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Tap to choose a clip from your camera roll and save the image. iPhone HEVC .mov files decode in Safari; if another browser cannot open one, use Safari or export the clip as MP4.
